co-founder and general partner of Aloe Private Equity is an experienced international entrepreneur with an extensive
background in building technology start-up companies. During his career Vivek co-founded a number of technology companies and has held several senior executive
management positions including Managing Director (UK) of Viventures (a USD$700m Venture Capital Fund), CIENA,
Kymata, British Telecommunications PLC and Motorola.He has a PhD from University College, London and a BSc in Physics from Imperial College. He has published
numerous papers, has several patents and is a regular speaker at conferences. In addition to a strong interest in the environment, Vivek has a personal passion for Africa and supports
organizations such as Pambazuka and Fahamu, platforms and publishing houses with a focus on social justice
in Africa. When he can find the time, he is an avid squash player.

Environment Management background. He has held senior executive positions in Veolia Energy
(including CEO of the German division), and was head of Vivendi’s Media and Multimedia divisions for three years.

He was CEO of Numericable, the leading MSO in France, a Board Member of Havas (Books, Games, Digital contents),
UGC (European leading theatre group), and Babelsberg Studios. He was also a member of the executive committee of
Cegetel, and responsible for the launch of Vivendi’s intranet. Mr. Tranié was founder and General Managing Partner of
Viventures Partners which manages two Funds; under his supervision, the Funds invested € 240 million in 75 portfolio
companies. Mr Tranié graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and sits on the board of two French listed engineering

Luc-Emmanuel Barreau is based in the Paris office and is Aloe Private Equity's CFO. Before joining Aloe, he was an MBA student in the Berkeley-Haas school of business, where he focused on Energy, entrepreneurship and Private Equity & Venture Capital. Prior to his MBA, Luc-Emmanuel worked for 6 years for PwC, first as an auditor in the industrial products division, then in the Transaction Services department as a senior analyst and a Manager. During his tenure in TS, he performed financial due diligence for Private Equity and Corporate clients on over 15 deals and LBO operations. He holds a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Arts & Métiers Paristech, a research master in Mechanics and materials, a diploma of higher accounting and financial studies, and an MBA from Berkeley-Haas.
holds a degree in Finance with Law from the University of Mauritius. Prior to
joining Aloe, Yassin worked for Multiconsult Ltd and Fideco Global Services Ltd, building a strong background in
tax-efficient structuring of investments into Asia, AML/CDD checks as well as company law of various
jurisdictions. Yassin is mainly responsible for screening potential investments and monitoring the performance of

Younan He joined Aloe in September 2012. He is currently based in the London office and is responsible for reviewing business plans and providing support to existing portfolio companies whilst supporting the operations of the Aloe teams. He is a graduate from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he received a Bachelor Degree in Management Sciences. Prior to joining Aloe, Younan worked with Banco Santander Corporate Banking Division in London and A.T.Kearney Management Consulting in Shanghai, where he held internship analyst positions.
