co-founder and general partner of Aloe Private Equity is an experienced international entrepreneur with an extensive
background in building technology start-up companies. During his career Vivek co-founded a number of technology companies and has held several senior executive
management positions including Managing Director (UK) of Viventures (a USD$700m Venture Capital Fund), CIENA,
Kymata, British Telecommunications PLC and Motorola.He has a PhD from University College, London and a BSc in Physics from Imperial College. He has published
numerous papers, has several patents and is a regular speaker at conferences. In addition to a strong interest in the environment, Vivek has a personal passion for Africa and supports
organizations such as Pambazuka and Fahamu, platforms and publishing houses with a focus on social justice
in Africa. When he can find the time, he is an avid squash player.
co-founder of Aloe Private Equity is a highly successful and experienced venture capitalist with an IT and
Environment Management background. He has held senior executive positions in Veolia Energy
(including CEO of the German division), and was head of Vivendi’s Media and Multimedia divisions for three years.
He was CEO of Numericable, the leading MSO in France, a Board Member of Havas (Books, Games, Digital contents),
UGC (European leading theatre group), and Babelsberg Studios. He was also a member of the executive committee of
Cegetel, and responsible for the launch of Vivendi’s intranet. Mr. Tranié was founder and General Managing Partner of
Viventures Partners which manages two Funds; under his supervision, the Funds invested € 240 million in 75 portfolio
companies. Mr Tranié graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and sits on the board of two French listed engineering

Aloe Private Equity, Ludovic has held a wide variety of corporate finance and accounting management
roles in Europe and Asia for nine years including three years with Viventures Partners (France and Singapore),
three years with Siemens (France) and four years with Alcatel (France and Vietnam). During his tenure
with Viventures Partners Ludovic was the financial controller of the Asian subsidiary and supported the
CFO in functions related to the fund management, investment process and financial reporting.
Vivek is an experienced finance professional, with several years of investment banking, corporate finance & corporate treasury management experience. During his career Vivek has , as an intrapreneur, build several successful businesses for large corporates in India. He established the sustainability business for YES Bank, by setting up the Sustainable Investment Bank which provides investment advisory and banking services within the climate change and sustainability domain & co-sponsoring the South Asia Clean Energy Fund, with Global Environment Fund, USA. He was also the founder Managing Director of VA TECH Finance in India, a boutique investment advisory and investment banking services firm based at Delhi. VA TECH Finance also handled the structured finance , investing business and corporate treasury for VA TECHNOLOGIE AG, Austria covering over 15 subsidiaries and Joint Ventures in the South Asia/ South East Asia region, prior to its acquisition by Siemens AG. Vivek has a strong interest in the environment sector and is a regular speaker at conferences and has contributed to publications in the space. He holds an MBA from Banaras Hindu University.
is responsible for monitoring the performance of portfolio companies, reviewing business plans, conducting
financial due diligence and financial analysis of investment opportunities. Vikram has a Bachelor of Commerce
from Pune University and qualified ACA from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is CFA Level III
candidate. Before joining Aloe, Vikram was working as an assistant manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers
(Mumbai, India) in the Financial Advisory Services for three years. During his tenure at PwC he worked on a
number of cross-border M&A and private equity transactions. Vikram has also worked for 3 years as a
Senior Analyst in the corporate finance and internal audit departments of Thermax Limited (a leading energy and
environment technologies company in India).
is based in the London office where he focuses on screening new investment opportunities and supporting
portfolio companies. Prior to joining Aloe Private Equity Gavin spent two years working for ITI energy,
an early stage Cleantech investor that specialises in renewable energy and new materials. Previously Gavin
worked for two blue chip multinationals as a Chemical Engineer. At Air Products Gavin spent three years
designing and commissioning air separation plants for clients in the Middle East and Europe.
During his three years at Tate & Lyle Gavin was responsible for decolourisation and resin regeneration whilst
implementing process improvement projects. Gavin has an MBA from Imperial College and a Masters in Chemical
Engineering from the University of Manchester.
Xavier de Nazelle
is currently based in Mumbai. He holds a degree in Finance with Law from the University of Mauritius. Prior to
joining Aloe, Yassin worked for Multiconsult Ltd and Fideco Global Services Ltd, building a strong background in
tax-efficient structuring of investments into Asia, AML/CDD checks as well as company law of various
jurisdictions. Yassin is mainly responsible for screening potential investments and monitoring the performance of

portfolio companies. He is a graduate from Boston College where he attended the Carroll school of management,

PGA Motors, Ineo Suez, Air Liquide and Calyon CIB where he worked in the fields of accounting, corporate finance,
business development and investment banking.

portfolio companies. Josephine is a graduate from Sciences-Po Paris (IEP) where she acquired an interdisciplinary
education is economics, law, history and political sciences, with a specialization on the Asian region.
She holds a master degree in Finance and Strategy. Josephine has previously held various internships
in France and in India, where she lived and studied for one year.
graduated from Queen’s university Canada majored in mechanical engineering. After graduation Dean worked 1 year
for an engineering firm called Sinodiam, and then joined KPMG transaction service section prior to joining Aloe.
At KPMG Dean was involved in the legal and financial due diligence process of Hongtai / Camoton Ltd. Within the
China team, Dean is responsible for conducting due diligence of new investment opportunities as well as
supporting the portfolio companies.
Kunal Sharma is based in the London office where he is responsible for screening new investment opportunities, whilst providing support for existing portfolio companies. Prior to joining Aloe, Kunal worked for over five years developing several Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Clean Technology projects across Asia, Africa and Latin America. Kunal received Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee and Masters in Finance (majoring in Corporate Finance) from London Business School.
Sandip is based in the Mumbai office and is responsible for evaluating new investment opportunities and supporting portfolio companies. Prior to joining Aloe, he was part of the Private Equity and Principal Investing group of YES BANK Ltd, where he was involved in providing investment advisory services to offshore financial sponsors as well as identifying investments for the Bank’s proprietary capital. Prior to his stint with YES Bank, he worked with Pangea3 (now, a Thomson Reuters company) where he specialized in strategic patent and innovation counseling for technology companies. Sandip has an MBA with specialisation in Finance and Strategy from Indian School of Business (ISB) and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering fromthe Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK). He is a CFA Level III candidate.
Aliénor graduated from Audencia Nantes School of Management where she specialised in strategic consultancy. Prior to joining Aloe, Alienor worked as an intern for Ernst & Young In Ukrainia where she learned both audit and Russian. She also spent a year in China, for 6 months as an intern at the Chinesebroker Everbright Securities in Shanghai, and then as a student in intense chinese classes at Beijing Language University.
