Aloe organised a Chinese delegation led by the China Environmental Protection Ministry to visit Europe, with a focus on Urban Mining and Circular Economy

Aloe organised series of visits and meetings, which took place from September 5th - 17th, between European companies involved in the recycling sector and a Chinese delegation led by the former Deputy Minister and currently advisor to the Environmental Protection Ministry, Deputy Wang. The delegation comprised of a representative of the MOFCOM (China Ministry of Commerce), two academics and five directors of Chinese companies operating within the recycling industry. The delegation has had the opportunity to understand the market, technology and policy of European circular economy, specifically focusing on WEEE, waste plastic, waste paper, scrap tire, car dismantling and hazardous waste recycling, and initiate business cooperation opportunities with their European counterparts. Aloe led the delegation on a tour which took them to France (Véolia, SITA, Vertaris, Recupyl, GPA, Urbaser Environnement), Austria (MBA Polymers) and Germany (MEWA, Remondis, Stena).

Aloe is pleased to encourage business relationships between European and Asian companies and to help the further development of the Chinese recycling industry. Its geographical presence in both regions enhances its ability to build bridges between the two continents.

Deputy Wang has since officially become the advisor to Aloe’s investments in China, providing regulatory and market guidance, portfolio support, and most importantly bringing an increasing number of valuable deal flows, endorsed by the China Environmental Protection Ministry.
