environCom – WEEE Recycling
environCom is an innovative recycling company bringing a high tech vision to the recycling industry via its 10 acre state-of-art site on the outskirts of Grantham, in Lincolnshire. environCom recycles, recovers and reuses Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) such as fridges, freezers, large domestic appliances (washing machines, cookers), small domestic appliances (vacuum cleaners, irons), cathode ray tube TVs (CRTs), flat screens, and IT equipment. environCom’s WEEE facility is one of the largest and most advanced in Europe, with 100000 tonnes of WEEE recycling capacity.
environCom has signed a 5 year rolling service contract with DSG International plc, one of Europe’s leading specialised electrical groups with 650 Currys and PC World stores in the UK, and will be responsible for all DSG’s WEEE recycling and reuse requirements in the UK. environCom’s ability to safely and efficiently dispose of fridges, washing machines, televisions, IT and PC equipment has been recognised by UK Environment Agency, who audited and granted environCom the first of the UK’s new environmental permits for environCom to operate a UK Compliance Scheme for WEEE Recycling as an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) and Approved Exporter (AE).
environCom is currently evaluating plans for future sites with the UK and South East Asia.
